Hi,

You can also use transistor BC148 for this to work. It has the same function like 2n2222. The circuit will still function and for the LED it is a WHITE superbright LED

Cu, potassium alum, filtered water, Mg 99.95%. Oscillator with 45' 30AWG, 2n2222, 7.5K ohm parallel with 1nF, 100uF across cell, white LED. 600mV, 3.5mA. I add some water to the top of the cell everyday. It's been going for 12 days now at the same power. The caps make the light a bit brighter just as Carlos suggested. Thanks for sharing.
