yes, they are there to help protect the neon. At some point, front end voltage wise... they are not necessary because the transistor will blow w/ or w/o them if the wrong end becomes disconnected.Originally posted by AlvaroHN View PostCorrect me if I am wrong, but looking at the picture I think those little resistors are in series with the neons.

when running at 12 volts WITH matched transistors the 4.7K resistors provides protection above the standard neon only. with MATCHED transistors that is.... because all the current is divided equally across the set. unmatched no dice
either way be good to your trannies!!

hi,watching schemeon complete advanced book I never saw a bridge rectifier for cap dump circuit,whether they may have a built-in capacitor module or i missing something?
and what it's for this diode?I know it's for common ground mode or generator mode only?
What can happen if I connect my cap dump without that diode?
