    It's a standard SG circuit turned no-wheel i.e. solid-state using cap-pot-diode (CPD).

    Hi Patrick,

It's halfway finished. I still need to solder the wires and stuff. Just set it up to test the circuit.

I had originally tried a 1M and 500K pot and tried those small yellow .33uF AC caps and some other too. The punch isn't enough IMO. I don't have those bigger ones you have, need to salvage them somewhere. Nice clean pulsing and range but for 8x MJLs not enough uF. So I tried a 2000uf DC cap which gave a really nice punch to the coil like 1sec/1pulse but any faster like 3pulses per second, the pot wouldn't hold. So playing with the speed I fried them . So I switched to 3x 100Ohm 5W resistors in series instead ... the resistors would still heat up so I tried 1000uF which was much better. RIght now playing with different caps. With the 2000uf cap a 7Ah battery went up pretty quickly to 14V, input was around 1.7A. With 470uf ~600mA. with 1000uf ~950mA input.
First I need to find a sweet spot and battery for C20 discharge and try some charging. The snaping of the coil at 1.7A input is really something hold a magnet near it jumps. I will do a video once it's finished and share some data.

How is the charging on your setup?

Are we reinventing the wheel or are we looking at something else ?

I think this one is the schematic.

I recently built a SS SSG with CPD mod and it looks to me this trembler coil does almost the same.

    Can somebody ellaborate ?

    Thank you.
