  • Input on a project for uni

Hello, I am a student at Grand Valley University taking a class called Design Thinking for Social Product Innovation. For this class, we have to design a product that will bring a positive change in the world. My project is to design a product that can help provide electricity to people in Cambodia that haven't been connected to the grid, or have unreliable electricity. I need to get input on some initial ideas I've had before I start, so I thought I could use some advice from people who are familiar with energy science. I've put the survey below if you want to help out, it isn't very long.

If you have any questions about the specific situation I'm dealing with, feel free to ask.

These are the ideas I've had so far: - A product that can store energy relatively cheaply in order to make existing power generation more consistent, like a battery, or pumped water storage. Can also be used in along with another product to store energy for one household. - Smaller scale water turbines built for personal power generation from smaller rivers. - Small scale solar panels for powering individual homes. - A product where a human can turn a wheel to generate electricity, like a hand crank or stationary bike. - a simple heat engine that can generate electricity from any heat source.
