I built a custom homopolar coil to demonstrate that the homopolar generation technique can produce higher voltages if magnetically wound correctly.

If you lock the load current, back magnetic force, into the physical structure, then the load placed on the generator doesn't cause any additional load on the rotating prime mover.
In the generator, if you reverse the wire direction then you must reverse the magnetic polarity to make DC.
The only question was "what plane did the windings need to be in relative to the acceleration vector" and the pictures I posted show you.
