alum batteries and usage

I have a question on the alum converted batteries. Do they need to be desulfated like lead acid batteries do and equalized? Also would they be good for solar application?

Thank you for your help. I will do this for my batteries then.I will be using the alum battery for solar power. I have been doing alittle testing with one to see how it will work compared to lead acid.So far I do like the alum better than the lead acid.
