One side of the billet rotor is now slotted.
    two 25 X 25 X 150mm ceramics waiting to be pushed in.

Your so modest about your work man,, it looks incredible!

So any idea when you will start assembling this beauty?

    Hi Bob,

I'm not modest, I just work around some guys who are amazing.
I'm not a machinist by trade, just an amateur in the back yard burning bits till he knows better.
I have a four year old and an 11week old that are devouring my life at the moment.
There isn't a whole lot to go.
I couldn't find a gearing system for my commutator cards so they are finished.
The big rotor is about 3hours more work.
A bit of wiring and some hold downs for the coils maybe 20hrs to go?
Since this project I've been contemplating things.
Peter Lindemann suggested the biggest wheels are always the best so if this works out I have some racing wheels I'm keen on transforming too.
Hit me with any thoughts you have.

Oh and good tools make any fool look great.

Tried to push the magnets in but its a bit tight.
need to shave .1mm off the sides.

It turns out the slots were spot on, it was the magnets that were bent!
The magnets red side is north, peculiar to see where the magnet lines up.

    New split case bearing blocks.

I'm thinking of ditching the coils and going for a window motor set up, what do you think?

Commutator cards have been split to allow for shaft removal (easier to service bearings).

Shaft has had circlips installed to lock into place.

    Lugs mounts installed.

    4 Commutators mounted.

Ran the rotor up to 2800 RPM's on a drill today no problems.

Coils mounted, holders glued into place.

Its interesting, only the narrow North band is attracted to the iron core while the entire south sides are not.
A small magnet clearly "sticks" to the rotor on the "south" sides.

    Maybe a few hundred dollars?
Borrowed the coils off the 10 coiler.
    The wood is scrap.
    The rotor is scrap.
Most of the stuff I bought I didn't use.
My workshop on the other hand.... that wasn't so cheap.
