Sympathize with your SSG problems, however if only one transistor is blown in your circuit just remove the coil wire to the transistor and run as is. I had the same blown transistor issue a couple of years back and ran the SSG without issue for a year before repairing it. Machine works fine on 7, in fact if you are so inclined you can play with removing additional wires and observing how the machine operates.

If I recall correctly Peter Lindemann's demo SSG from the 2014 conference was using seven transistors on his board and the machine ran very well.

Thanks, I appreciate that. However, when I realized that my "trusted source" for the transistors was selling the Chinese transistors, I decided to go ahead and buy directly from mouser anyways. He swore to me they were sourced from US sources, but after inspecting them, I realized that those US sources must have been Chinese warehouses located within the US. I have informed him, and he supposedly is checking it out... I realized this after looking at the pictures that John Bedini posted (when he popped some of them open) on original and fake transistors. Look at the leads... The ones from Mouser weren't much more than I was paying, so I ordered 14 of them...

Unfortunately, they wont be here until tomorrow. Starting tomorrow my families life will be changing to a certain degree. I don't know how long it will be before my wife is recovered enough to take care of herself after the surgery Wednesday. She is my priority at the moment. There are a few things I have to get done today, because I know I wont be here for about a week starting tomorrow. And even after coming home, she is going to need me quite a bit. If you read back a few pages you will see whats going on. If you are a praying man, please pray for her.

    Thanks for the advice!

Wouldn't want to burn up a meter or wiring!
Good idea! To get a higher voltage I could always just run 2 or 3 - 9 volt batteries together to get either 18 or even 21 volts....

    Quick update:

I am writing this from my wife's hospital room...

The surgery went well, and she is recovering well. She has been up walking some today, and had a few of the "tubes" removed today, although they may have to put the catheter back in for a while... You can see pictures and updates on my FACEBOOK page, going back to yesterday morning.

I thank you for your prayers Gary, and anyone else who may be praying for her during this time.

I got tracking confirmation that my 14 transistors were delivered yesterday, so soon after we get back home (next week probably) Ill resume working on my energizer as I can.

We are still in the hospital. There was a bit of a setback, but thinkgs seem to be on the right track now. I had to go home at the 1 week mark to refill my medications and get clean clothes. My transistors were waiting for me in the mailbox from Mouser. However, they look like the cheap Chinese transistors that John shows in the book, with the offset pins 1 and 3. Im sure that they must be original and good quality since they came from Mouser, however, I just learned that you cant tell just by looking at them if they are originals or copies.

Ill begin rebuilding my circuit whenever I get the chance. In the meantime, I ask for you guys continued prayers for my wife. Also, if you would like to help out financially, I have set up a gofundme page for just that. Click the following link to see pictures, the story of whats happening, and any updates made. You can also make a donation of ANY size here. Thank you guys for your prayers and support!!! HERE'S THE LINK.

Hi guys! My wife and I are back home after 2 weeks in the hospital. She is recovering slowly, but feels a little better each day! Its still a long road to complete recovery, and her diet has changed drastically! But Im sure that if she would just do what she is supposed to, instead of being so stubborn, that she will get better soon! If anyone would like to help us out with the medical bills that are starting to roll in, or just to catch up on the progress of her recovery, then please click HERE to check it out.

I have started re-building my circuit from the ground up. Brand new transistors I bought from MOUSER and 470 Ohm 1 watt resistors. Im going with the original plans and using the 1N4001 AND 1N4007 diodes (for now). I have the Ceramic variable resistor that Gary mentioned, getting rid of all the amp meters, and am currently soldering it all together. But I have a question...

I was reading in these forums somewhere, that you can further protect the transistors by adding a 4.7K reisistor inline with the neon bulb. Is this true? If so, which leg of the neon should the resistor go on? (Should the resistor be attached to the emitter or collector side of the neon? or does it not matter?)

Also, should the 7 outputs work better all connected to a single output post (to charge one battery), or should I hook each output wire up to its own output post (to charge up to 7 batteries?)

Another thing... will a scope like THIS one work? Or maybe THIS or THIS or THIS?
