  • How accurate does steel grade on the iron core need to be?

    Beginners handbook says R45.
    http://teslagenx.com offers R60.
Will the ones from Teslagenx suffice?

New thread so it's easier to find via search function.

    Hi William --

I thought from the beginning they were R60 grade welding rods. The beginners book does day R45
but I have made a few coils already and all my coil core have R60 welding rods which came from TeslaGenX.
So yes you can use the R60 welding rods for the core of your coil.

Have you built an entire functioning Bedini SG that uses the R60?

        Hi William --

Yes, I have built with help from my friend in Vermont two working SG Machines and one Generator Coil.
The three coils all use R60 welding rods. One SG coil I bought from TeslaGenX pre-made but you have to glue
the rods into it yourself and the one SG coil I made myself with coil forms I bought from TeslaGenX. The Generator
coil I also made myself. When I say myself I had a special coil winding rig and two other guys helping. You can see
the pictures of the rig in one of my picture albums in my profile. Currently one SG Machine is being used to
rejuvenate batteries one guy at my work had in his shed for years. One battery has been fully rejuvenated.
Another had made it half way but it may have some shorted cells in that one. Two more are on deck waiting
        to be rejuvenated.
