    hi everyone

Recently i ve been playing with a computer fan , and i would like your advise to improve it.

It is around 8inch ,driven by a mps8099 transistor and variable resistor on the trigger(single circuit).
coil is rewound bifilar 200 turn on each poles , 27 ohms , nsns , as stock.was powered by a 12v lab.

My question was about the output V , when connected to a cap was only 160v , and i would like to know what could limit it.
In the eftv dvd rick s fan gives out more than 200v but he s got those big MJL.I have my best output with more than 1,5k on the trigger.

Iwas thinking may be the MPS was the limiting factor but everything run cold.

The other question was , as i have no oscilloscope to check it , if it is set to fire as the north pole passed the coil , does it fire as the south pole approach ?

    thanks for your help
