  • Battery Capacity (AH) when connected in Series..

    Hi All,

    I'm pondering over the effective AH of Batteries (all of the same capacity) when connected in SERIES.
    The Voltage of course is additive (sum of all the batteries) but i believe from other sources that the AH capacity remains the same.
    why could't the capacity go down as the series pile up increase..? Like in a capacitor the value(Capacitance) gets reduced(value /number of Capacitor in series)
    any comments please...

    Yes AH remains the same except for some resistance looses depending on your connections.

      Hi Zonman,
      Thanks for your inputs, in fact this where a Battery is different from a Capacitor, since in the later case the value of the Capacitance reduces when connected in Series..
      the AH value of a Battery is not directly connected to its Faradic Capacitance...could any one elaborate the Mathematical relation between the two..?
