    Dear mentors

    I have a primary battery like this :
    Car
    12 volts
    50 AH
    450 A.

    when I used the small window motor single transistor circuuit (that was produced by renaissance and charge), I hooked everything up.
    What I noticed is that the resistor (going to unique coil) got immediatly very, very hot (can't touch it with hands after 3 seconds or so).
    The transistor does not seem damdaged at all. The soldering from that resistor to the board melted , freeing one of its legs.
    This is just the context where I asked myself : In Peter Lindemann and Aaron Murakami beginner's handbook, there is no "specification" of the battery, so my question is :
    what could cause this hot ? a bad wiring ? or the car battery, much too powerful ?

    Hi Bung-ee, more than likely something is not hooked up right. The primary battery won't be too powerful as the circuit will just take what it needs.

      Do you have a charge battery. You need somewhere for the back emf to go so you don't fry your transistor. Ne- neons across the transistor

        Thank you. I understand it can be a power plant in Amperes and 12 v and still work.
        Billy, yes I have that diode (I am following the instructions to the letter as in the Beginner's Handbook).
